This is a tall, bright blue sign towering over the building of an auto center it belongs to. The sign says "Urban Auto," but the word urban is created in a graffiti-type manner shaded in with different types of blue, whereas the word Auto is written regularly in red and orange.

Remarks
This sign can be considered art because it is aesthetically pleasing and a very striking and unusual way to decorate a businesss sign. The sign adds an informal touch to the auto business, but catches the attention of passersby, as it reflects upon the varied artworks found throughout the city. Rosten Woo and Marcy Reaven state in their article, Stakes in the Ground: Protecting the Places We Love, that some places "may not serve a longstanding use or represent a specific historical era, but their aesthetic value has become a part of local culture and appreciation nonetheless." This sign may not function as something everyone in the city of Pomona recognizes specifically, but the idea that it is a graffiti sign lends hand to the art-inspired city of Pomona and shows the wide effects of graffiti-styled art which is found often in the same area of the sign. It is perfectly painted and the techniques used to enhance the sign (i.e. use of graffiti, vibrant colors, and perfected form of the letters) are definitely worth praising.This sign is significant because it is something unique and original, and in no way does a graffiti-like painting relate to an auto business, but in this case it serves its purpose of catching peoples attention.
