Remarks
This painting can be considered art because its aesthetic value has the power to appeal to all ages of passersby because of the children in the picture and stands out as quite diverse because many of the portraits within the same area are not meant to appeal to young ages. In addition, the various pastel colors of the painting correlate to the happiness and energy portrayed by most children, and this is a way to connect to them. This mural also makes one question the reasoning behind painting mustaches on the children. This is significant to the city of Pomona because it adds diversity towards gender and to art in general because children are portrayed with mustaches, which is something quite unique. It can also bring upon many interpretations as far as the childrens mustaches are concerned, and thus this mural encourages people to look further into understanding the residents of Pomona and the things they come up with. It definitely is one-of-a-kind and has the power to spark a conversation amongst those who see it.
