One of the last surviving art deco movie palaces in California, for many years this spectacular landmark was the valley's most glamorous destination. Visible from miles around, the Fox sign originally revolving high atop the eight-story tower illuminated the night sky with turquoise and orange neon letters each ten feet high. It also entertained more than 6,000 troops who at the time of WWII were stationed at the fairgrounds. It is now under restoration plans.
