Remarks
The cardboard skater pseaks to the evergrowing skating trend ocurring in Pomona. In "Watts Towers and the Giglo Tradition", folk art is described as, "art originating among the common people of a nation or region and usually reflects their traditional culture, especially everyday festive items produced or decorated by unschooled artists." This piece fits this description to a tee. It uses everyday items (such as cardboard and a box), to exemplify the new skating culture/phenomenon. It is representative of the people who choose to participate in this growing culture/trend.
Subject Terms
A Skater's interpretation of the every day skater.
