J. F. Cumberland helping load oranges on his ranch at the far north end of Emerald Avenue. This grove was later sold to the Arbuthnots Mr. Cumberland - a leader in La Verne Heights School etc. Property at end of Emerald Avenue -- The Arbuthnot Family succeeded the Cumberlands on this property.
