Lorbeer to the Pomona Public Library Dec. 13 [Apr. 4 1909 stamped along wih a hand-drawn map] Theodore Ruth arrived in Pomona in 1875. Appointed postmaster in 1884. Conducted first drug store between Los Angeles and San Bernardino. Store first erected at N. E. corner of 5th and Garey, later moved to Main St. between 2nd and 3rd sts. (Ruth block) Was agent for Wells Fargo & Co. Express for 27 years. Died in Los Angeles in 1930. Born July 21, 1841. Came to Pomona to live Oct. 1875. -- first home at 5th and Garey. 30 years ago May 6, 1916 The longest-time American residents of Pomona are Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Ruth, of 359 W. 5th avenue, who observed their fifty-first wedding
