Pomona 1874 - 1912 Horticulturist with Rev. C. F. Loop purchased Loop and Meserve Tract in 1874. Lived with family in Palomares Adobe on Cucamonga Ave. Early Settler 30 years ago February 7, 1912 A. R. Meserve, county horticultural commissioner since 1909 is dead from heart failure. Meserve came to California in 1852. He was one of the founders of Pomona and with the late Rev. C. F. Loop laid out the Loop and Meserve tract in the northeast part of Pomona. His son, E. A. Meserve, is a prominent attorney of Los Angeles
